The MIL project, winner of the Yvelines General Council's "Urban Vehicle - City of the Future" call for projects, was presented on October 7, 2013. It brought together MUSES, INDUCT and LIVIC (an IFSTTAR laboratory) to implement two automatic functions with a 100% electric Mooville vehicle:
- Automatic valet parking for driverless vehicles.
- Platooning enables a single driver to move an entire fleet of vehicles. A robotic arm, an integral part of the Mooville vehicle, links the vehicles together to form a train. Each vehicle adapts its behavior to that of the lead vehicle, ensuring monotrace tracking.
CAR&D has designed trajectory tracking control laws providing for redundancy, with :
- A loop using the leader's steering information
- A loop only internal to the following vehicle.
